In book one, Quick (Roman) is described as 49 years old and Duke is 45 years old. Quick's son, Vaughn, is 31 years old. In this book -#2, the author states that Quick and Duke (best friends and co-owners of the bounty hunting business) are both in their early 40's and that Vaughn is 10 years younger than Duke. NO. Duke is at least 15 years older than Vaughn and both Duke and Quick are now 50 years old. Why can't the author keep track of her own characters? These kinds of errors make me frustrated and lose interest in the author's work. ~~~~SPOILERS!!!! Read at your own risk... I will NOT change it!Quick, we met in the last book... Vaughn's dad and business partner to Duke. Gotta say, the cover Quick fit him perfectly... gorgeous! He's rough around the edges and got a bit of an attitude when it comes to Dr. Chauncey...well he did... he didn't in this one.... He's perfectly content with being alone even though he's lonely and seeing his son and best friend so happy has him feeling guilty because he's jealous that they're so happy when he's alone.....Still... he's happy for them.And the Doc... I felt so bad for him in the last book, I cried for him even, he was such a great guy, just hadn't had anyone to ever really care about him. Friends or lovers...he was just used to being alone.... I didn't like that for him, he deserved some happy....The guy he was seeing Dr. Joe (more on that douche bag in a minute), treated him awful, just used him for a closet good time and it really took a tole on him, then he meets Quick and gets rejected and it hurts him all over again... BUT, Quick more than made up for it, once he'd decided to pursue Cayson, he was all in... I kept waiting for him to mess up or change his mind, but he didn't. He was so sweet and just everything Cays needed him to be.... Of course, we had some trouble from Dr. Joe.... I mean, who calls themselves Dr. Joe.. and he was seriously unbalanced....how he was a medical professional when he clearly needed psychological help was beyond me, but I'm glad he got his face knocked in...I was disappointed we didn't get to hear what he was charged and sentanced with, I was hoping they'd have thrown the book at him for being so psycho....Maybe next book eh?Speaking of next book.. I'm really hoping it's about the brothers.... I absolutely loved Brian and Ford... Their bond is amazing, and the way Ford went crazy when all that happened to Brian... shewww, I can't wait to see about both of them... Yowza! It'll be a good'n!Overall, I adored this series but this book is hands down my favorite... I loved the way Quick was with Cayson, and I loved the way Cayson was with Quick, they needed each other and they were perfect together! .... Swoon....Can't wait for more!
